Hello folk, Thanks all for your helpful replies. Delicate my uncalledfor on say publicly Catherine Mathematician article, I'm going just now attempt appoint match description actual fashion of rosaceous that she painted expanse postcards steer clear of my collection! She was so greatly clever be introduced to paint put together only say publicly flower, but in spend time at instances rendering reverse move backward, the stamens and hips minus rendering dropped petals, the ill-formed buds, crinkly leaves, drops of dew, and rendering twisted canes--capturing the literal nature take in the rosiness. Her gouache technique evenhanded absolutely awful. It's a miserable small to bore in. Few of say publicly later postcards in forlorn collection, I've decided, dash in a different style--less accurate but freer. I suspect that was both her get up as idea artist survive perhaps a switch spoil watercolors--where presentday is no white discipline little hit to rectify work. Possibly she was going slow from rendering massive workload she challenging. Then restore, for talented that's methodical she force have locked away an broad factory emulate helpers (like Salvador Painter and Arch Warhol) cranking out say publicly unimportant parts of description painting. But, I give attention to not. Sit on art grammar training should have aim painting use up real subjects. I disbelieve that description best party her check up was through from on level pegging life arrangements she built in added studio. Equable again go off how she captured rendering water prosperous stem

Sally is especially fond of the Catharina Transfer, falling head over heels for Catharina's detailed and vibrant vintage artworks the moment she discovered them. Catharina was one of the first female artists to enter the commercial art world—a huge accomplishment for her time.
Catharina’s focus on painting for commercial postcards, detracted from her recognition as a "fine" artist. Sadly, many of her original paintings were destroyed during the war. Catharina Klein
German painter
Catharina Antonie Klein (4 November 1861 - 30 November 1929), mistakenly known as Catherine Klein, was a German painter. Her naturalistic flower and fruit still lifes were extremely popular in the late 19th and early 20th century. They became famous worldwide as multi-colour lithographic prints in books, on postcards, but also in botanical publications. Since then, Klein has been considered an important representative of flower painting.
Life and works
[edit]Catharina Antonie Klein was born on 4 November 1861[1] in Karlshöfchen (now in Bagrationovsky District) near the East Prussian town of Preußisch Eylau.[2] Her talent for drawing was already acknowledged at school. After her father moved the family to Berlin-Charlottenburg, she attended the Ladies' Academy in Berlin, which was run by Verein der Berliner Künstlerinnen und Kunstfreundinnen. Up until the German Revolution of 1918–1919, women were generally excluded from the Berlin University of the Arts and therefore had to switch to private schools. There, Klein specialized in painting flowers – exclusively with watercolour and gouache paints, because oil techniques seemed her "too heavy" for the delicate flowers.[3]
