MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- A North Carolina woman charged with capital murder of her boyfriend's wife is now back in Montgomery to face her charges.
Dominique Atkinson, 21, was extradited back to Montgomery on April 22,according to jail records. She is charged along with U.S. Marine Marquis Cheatham with capital murder during the commission of a robbery.
Atkinson, of Hampstead N.C., is set to appear in court today at 11 a.m. in front of Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Pamela Higgins, according to court records.
The pair is charged with shooting Cheatham’s wife, Ashley McCarthy Cheatham, on April 1 and stealing her vehicle.
Marquis Cheatham, 22, appeared in court on April 18 and requested an attorney, a bond hearing and a preliminary hearing.
In his affidavit of indigency, Cheatham listed Atkinson’s address as his home address.
Cheatham, a Lance Corporal in the Marines, is currently being discharged from the Corps, according to the U.S. Marines.
